The Program

The objectives of Leadership Brentwood are met through four initiatives.
 

I. Opening Retreat: August 22,23, 2008
Group develops teamwork skills, through this two-day facilitator led program, to gain a better understanding of group dynamics along with a better understanding of self. Strong bonds are developed to sustain the group for the work ahead.
II. Community Education
 
 
History Day : September 11, 2008
Learn about the incredible history of the 'who, what, where, when' of Brentwood.
Quality of Life Day : October 9, 2008
Develop a better understanding of the wonderful opportunities that exist in the Brentwood community.
 
Business /Economic Development Day:  Nov. 13, 2008
 
Meet commissioners, public offficials, developers, and investment resources who are at work to enhance growth in Brentwood.
Education Day: December 11. 2008
Explore the ways in which students, parents, teachers, administrators, and public officials are addressing challenges with education of children and adults.
Media/Entertainment Day: January 8, 2009
Identify the various forms of media and entertainment available in the Brentwood community while gaining a greater appreciation. 
Government Day: February 12, 2009
Personally meet city and county government officials and gain personal understanding  of the safety and protection issues facing Brentwood.
Closing Day and Graduation: March 5, 2009
Look back on your experiences during the year, and look forward to your future contributions of time and energy in continuing to make Brentwood such a wonderful place to live and work.
III. Class Project Class divided into three groups - each group identifies a community need and then creates a project to address this need.
IV. Community Involvement
Upon graduation, each classmate establishes a personal plan for future involvement in the community.
 

As a member of Leadership Brentwood, you will enjoy a deep understanding of your community, the issues it faces, and the resources available to address these issues.
