What is Leadership Brentwood?

Leadership Brentwood began in 1989 with the support of Brentwood’s Chamber of Commerce, city government, area businesses, and community organizations.  The leadership program offers personal and professional growth opportunities for selected participants. Leadership Brentwood is funded by tuition and fees and sponsored by the Brentwood Cool Springs Chamber of Commerce.

Each year,fifteen (15) leaders are selected to participate in the program, which begins in August and ends in March of the following year. The selection committee seeks diversity in the make-up of the Leadership Brentwood class in regard to age, ethnicity, gender, socio-economic factors and business. Its purpose is to identify and educate present and future leaders, integrating them into the Brentwood community.

The eight month program consists of eight all-day sessions held in the Brentwood, Nashville and Franklin area.  All meals (breakfast, lunch and snacks) and transportation is included for the day.

• Inspires leaders to become active in business and community efforts to make Brentwood the best place in America in which to do business and live
• Challenges leaders to increase awareness of themselves and to maximize their leadership potential 
• Provides an opportunity to network with a diverse group of individuals to strengthen personal and organizational influence
  

• Brings together a cross-section of business and community leaders to expand their business and community involvement
• Introduces participants to key community leaders and organizations that are addressing major issues facing Brentwood
• Allows participants to establish a network of contacts to become effective community leaders 
• Provides education, training and development in community 
• Provides participants with a positive experience, gain personal and professional growth, and form lasting friendships 
• Establishes an Alumni Association that enables participants to continue their involvement and networking within the Brentwood community
