 Hello Everyone,

It is my privilege to serve this year as the Chair of Leadership Brentwood Alumni Association. Our program year (April 1, 2011 through March 31, 2012) got off to a great start! So far we have had great turnouts for all our events. It began with a wonderful mixer during the summer at the home of Wes and Mary Lamoureux, the August Opening Reception for this year’s Leadership Brentwood Class,and  in October  the breakfast at the Library where plans for the Marcella Vivrette Smith Park were discussed.

In addition to all our events, we have completed our most recent service project at the Martin Center . Make sure that you stop by and see the completed walkway the next time you visit the Martin Center. A big THANK YOU goes to Mike Umphres, Gerry Barber, David Flow, Rob Ivy, Neal McBrayer, Tom McLaughlin, Robert Reynolds, and Paul Webb for all their hard work . Also, the Springhouse at the Brentwood Library that was refurbished by one of last year’s Leadership Brentwood Project Groups is finished. Check it out! We are looking for a new service project idea. If you have any suggestions, please email Mike, our Projects Coordinator, at UmphresM@aol.com.

I also want to thank everyone who has paid alumni dues. The more money we raise, the more we can do as a group as well as give back to our Youth Leadership Brentwood scholarships. We have collected dues from 108 of our 220 active members as of November, and we aren’t at the halfway mark! If you have not paid your dues of $45, you may do so by check or cash (remitting to Lynn Tucker). In the near future we will have a link set up so that dues may be paid on-line.

Lastly, we have included two new areas to the newsletter, “Save the Dates” so you can see what is going on as well as mark it on your calendar and “Alumni In the News”. This area is to let everyone know what all is going on with our Alumni. If you see one of your friends in the news (for good things not bad), please contact Lynn Tucker at lynn@brentwoodcoolsprings.org. This area will showcase not only our Leadership Brentwood Alumni but also our Youth Leadership Brentwood Alumni. This group or men and women are doing some great things. Thank you again for allowing me to serve as your Chair and as always if you have any ides or are interested in participating in your alumni association, please let me know.

To bring Leadership Brentwood Alumni together on a regular basis for civic and social good and to support and promote the Leadership Brentwood program as needed. All alumni of Leadership Brentwood are eligible to participate in the Alumni Association.
